root canal instrumentation and the outcome of endodontic treatments- the role of reciprocation techniques

17th October2018 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM
Credit Hours 6 HALL mamouniah

Introduction

Technological innovations have considerably changed endodontic procedures; cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), operative microscopes, ultrasonic and apex locators allow endodontists and general practitioners to appreciate as never before, the complexity of the root canal system in a clinical context. The evolution of endodontic instruments has also allowed a considerable simplification of instrumentation techniques. This is due to the development of new alloys obtained via the application of exact levels of heat over specific time periods which has allowed the production of instruments that work in reciprocation with unprecedented levels of flexibility and cyclic fatigue resistance.

The indications for the use of such instruments will be discussed.
