new tools for conservative extraction
In spite of the recent advances in conservative dentistry, yet we can’t prevent teeth extraction in some cases. Many extractions need surgical intervention, leading to excessive trauma, causing bone loss, preventing immediate implant placement or even delayed implant.
A lot of interventions lately were introduced to the market trying to decrease this complications such as periotome, piezotome, using endo H file, physics forceps and easy xtract. Despite these new techniques, most of them were having their problems and their special indications, this will be discussed in details in our lecture.
Now at Cairo University we developed two new techniques for atraumatic extraction, namely the KEY and ATM, for curved and straight roots respectively. We will discuss all about them, as well as other recent techniques.
